5th-6th August: Newport
Handicap Tournament won by Jonathan Toye
A small but highly select band of warriors sweated it out
in an all play all block over two days. The winner was the only non-club
member Jonathan Toye (Downham Market) who retained the title with 5 straight
wins, beating John Rolfe into second position on Sunday afternoon. The
local knowledge of the Newport members proved no match for Jonathan's
accuracy in hoop running, rushing and hitting.
In third place was Ron Atkinson
who, following cataract operations, shows every sign of once again lowering
his handicap.
